There are those in my life that make my life as a painter possible:
Mzwyo, who works for us, now prepares all my boards and keeps my painting equipment clean. I used to find preparing boards was a wonderfully meditative thing to do, especially when the creative juices were low. The joy of painting white with textures to underlie future paintings was calmly satisfying. However, with Mzwyo in our lives I have happily handed over the whole initial process which he does superbly, and with enthusiasm.

Bryan, my wonderful husband, took all my photographic records in the early 2000's, a job he did not relish, but kindly did, nonetheless. Fortunately for Bryan, Mzwyo is now able to do all the initial photography while I still do all the editing of each on computer. Bryan however, remains the major source for the inspiration of my painting titles and kindly wipes down my palette each evening.

Allan and Vic are two friends who have done a wonderful job on the framing of some work. But as we have such a small storage space the majority must be kept unframed.
My warmest appreciation to you all for making different parts of my life, as a painter, possible.
Donations
I have been fortunate in the two decades of my working life to be supported by numerous donors: companies and individuals. I know what its like to be dependent on fundraising and I’ve always had a special appreciation for those funds that have come from individuals. I therefore have the pleasure passing on this goodwill in the form of donating 5% of the sale of each of my paintings to one of my favorite self-help groups: Abalimi Bezekhaya …
"… an urban agriculture (UA) and environmental action (EA) association operating in the socio-economically neglected townships of Khayelitsha, Nyanga and surrounding areas on the Cape Flats near Cape Town, South Africa.
Abalimi means: "the Planters" in Xhosa, the predominant language among our target community. We assist individuals, groups and community based organisations to initiate and maintain permanent organic food growing and nature conservation projects as the basis for sustainable lifestyles, self-help job creation, poverty alleviation and environmental renewal. [see Abalimi's website]

Abalimi’s website is www.abalimi.org.za and their email is Info@abalimi.org.za
I put a challenge out to other artists to do similarly.
With warmest appreciation
